ESW Norcastle, or just Norcastle as I am going to refer to it as, started of as a Star Trek thing, it was going to be about a ship and the crew discovering a universe full of life etc etc, you know basic space stuff. I then decided to scrap that and instead go with a 'end of the universe' thing. I guess I should do a quick summary
In the far future Humans have colonised the stars but with a small problem, it takes decades to get to the nearest colony, so humanity worked on a warp engine that could cut travel time down to a year. After the first test drive on the ship Norcastle, the ship and crew discover that all life in the universe is gone, on the colonies, on Earth everywhere.
Clearly the Star Trek influence comes out the gate with the word 'warp', now I know that other series have done warp drives or warp engines but when I hear the word warp I think of Trek. Another big Trek influence is the captain having a log and telling everyone what is happening, again Star Trek didn't invent telling the readers/watchers what's happening but again when I think of a person logging whats happening I think of Trek.
